How St. Patrick’s Day is Celebrated in Ireland


St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated throughout the world every year for commemorating Saint Patrick, a Romano-British missionary who spread Christianity in Ireland. The day was first considered as a Catholic holiday, but gradually turned into a festivity. In the year 1976, the date 17th March was officially recognized for this purpose. Since then, Christians around the world rejoice the day by attending parades, relishing traditional Irish foods, listening to Irish music, and going green. Parades

Saint Patrick's Day parade is one of the most popular aspects of the festivity. In Ireland, almost all big cities, such as Dublin, Cork, Galway, and so on arrange parades on this day. Some of these towns even enhance the beauty of the events by including free entertainment programs, such as music, street theater, exhibitions, fireworks, treasure hunt, etc. in those. In these situations, the events are continued for a certain period. 


Foods

Delicious foods are another great part of St. Patrick's Day celebration. Usually, Irish people love to rejoice the festival with families.
